Pretty awesome!
Hadouken’ing comes to Japanese football
It’s hardly a surprise that the Hadouken’ing, the sort of Street Fighter/Dragonball Z-inspired meme sweeping across Japan (and beyond), has made its mark in Japanese football. But J.League club Yokohama F.Marinos owned the moment, passing these shots off on Twitter as an announcement that their club’s players Shingo Hyodo and Manabu Saito do, in fact, possess superpowers. April Fool’s aside, prepare for a serious storm of imitations in the coming weeks.
Awesome!
Rooney can score with his eyes closed
Robin van Persie aside, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, and Chicharito have defined Man Utd’s strike force in recent years. Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole defined Manchester United’s attack in the late 90s. So when the retired talismen challenged the current set of players, they threw in a little twist: scoring while blindfolded. Cole and Yorke showed that their trust in one another made it simple, whereas Rooney and Welbeck needed a few rounds to combine on something special. [video. Posted by Eric.]

I love NOOKA. I’ve owned their Zen H model since 2010 and even though it sparked an interest in progressive, off-the-wall watch designs, it’s still pretty much the only watch I wear. When I started at Fab, that first thing I did was make sure our buyers were aware of the brand. Of course they were. It’s Fab after all. The second thing I did? See how much my employee discount was.
It always feels good to write about a brand you actually love, so I was totally pumped when I found out I’d be interviewing the insanely creative NOOKA founder and lead designer Matthew Waldman. Due to my (most likely unhealthy) infatuation with Waldman’s products, I decided to ask him to name me his top five current inspirations. Buckle your seatbelts and please keep all arms inside the blog post. This gets a little wild.
